SPONSOR A SEMINARIAN
The Catholic Diocese of Ijebu-Ode currently has over 30 seminarians training for the Catholic priesthood. It takes nine years to train a seminarian — and your gift makes that journey possible. $1,000 USD (or ₦250,000 Nigerian Naira) sponsors one seminarian for one full year. Your donation directly supports the training of future priests who will serve the Church in Ijebu-Ode for generations to come.
EDUCATE A CHILD
Education has always been at the heart of this Diocese's mission. Late Bishop Anthony Saliu Sanusi and Late Bishop Albert Fasina, both former Bishops of Ijebu-Ode Diocese, were converts from Islam who became Catholics, priests, and ultimately Bishops through the power of faith-based education. That legacy continues today. The Diocese currently operates eight elementary schools and four high schools, providing free education to many children who could not otherwise afford it. You can be part of that story.

The Call
The call to mission was first given by Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:20: "Go therefore into the world and make disciples of all nations." In fulfilling that call, the Catholic Diocese of Ijebu-Ode, Nigeria was created on May 29, 1969 from the Archdiocese of Lagos with only five parishes.
The Place
Located in the rural part of Ogun State, Nigeria, the Diocese covers over 5,690 square kilometers. Seventy percent of its parishes are in rural areas with no good roads, electricity, or clean water. Despite these challenges, the Bishop, priests, and laity of the Diocese press forward, celebrating Mass and providing the sacraments to people in some of the most remote places imaginable.
The Work
In most of these areas, priests remain committed to the spiritual and material well-being of the people. That means the Gospel is preached and lived out through clean water, education, healthcare, feeding programs, and other basic needs. Tools like trucks and motorcycles are just as essential to this mission as the sacraments that sustain it.

Our priests and seminarians pray daily for all benefactors. Mass is offered for every donor — both living and deceased — on the first Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of each month.
